Verizon has just expanded its handset portofolio by announcing Nokia 7705 Twist, the handset you can check out in the image below. This messaging phone comes with a very interesting form factor, since it’s basically a square.

In spite of the strange design, the device manages to pack a full QWERTY keypad, that will probably hit a soft point in the hearts of tweens. Nokia 7705 Twist will be made available online this Sunday, September 13th for $99 (after a $50 mail in rebate) and with a 2 year contract.

The handset supports Xpress-on Covers and comes with a 3 megapixel camera with support for video recording, flash, autofocus, white balance, shutter sound and photo editing. There’s also a blogging feature on board, plus support for social networking, Mobile Email, a built-in mirror, a 2.4 inch TFT QVGA screen and a 2.5mm audio jack.
