It seems that Nokia has a special event scheduled for May 17th in Athens, that might include the announcement of their first Windows Phone 7 device. It’s been a year now since the announcement of a flagship Nokia, so it’s time to deliver the goodies.

The event takes place at local time 8PM, meaning that it’s 6PM GMT, quite strange for a company that usually made unveilings at noon or in early morning. The last press conference set up by Nokia was the one meant for the announcement of the E6 and X7. Our best guess is that next week we’ll be seeing either Symbian Anna or a Windows Phone 7 device…

Considering that Microsoft will showcase Windows Phone 7.5 Mango on May 24th, we might get a glimpse of a Nokia smartphone with this update installed, or they might wait another week before unveiling it. Any other ideas on what this event could be?
