We previously expected OxygenOS, the famous OnePlus ROM to come on March 27th and today we get a clarification regarding the delay. First of all, the CyanogenMod 12S official OTA update was promised for March 30, while the OxygenOS was promised for the 27th, but the latter didn’t come.

oxygen OS ROM update

Interestingly enough, OnePlus anticipated a potential delay and promised to give away 5 64 GB OnePlus One devices to the fans. Those who replied to the thread here were eligible. Well, we have good news and bad news, since Helen, Head of Mobile Products at OnePlus has took to the OnePlus Forum to announce the 5 winners and obviously the delay.

The OxygenOS ROM is said to be fully functional and people in the OnePlus office are already running it on their own devices. The delay was blamed on the “extra quality control”, as OnePlus wants to make sure that OxygenOS passes Google certification with flying colors. In the meantime, CyanogenMod 12 is also awaited, but that’s not totally OnePlus’s responsability.

This ROM has been in the worlds for almost 2 months now, so let’s give it some more time.
