QNAP has introduced the TS-432XeU, a 1U short-depth NAS designed to put four drive bays and 10GbE networking into racks with limited space. The chassis measures about 292mm deep and is aimed at small offices, surveillance installations, AV deployments and production environments that do not need a larger server enclosure.
The TS-432XeU uses an AnnapurnaLabs Alpine AL324 quad-core ARM Cortex-A57 processor clocked at up to 1.7GHz, paired with 4GB of non-ECC DDR4 memory. RAM can be expanded to 16GB. Its hardware is positioned for file storage, backup and network services rather than processor-intensive server workloads.

Networking is one of the system’s key features. QNAP supports SMB Multichannel and port trunking, while its in-house testing reports up to 1,181MB/s read speeds and 859MB/s write speeds over 10GbE. Those figures were recorded with a four-SSD RAID 5 array using Samsung 850 PRO drives, so they should be treated as vendor laboratory results rather than independent benchmarks.
The USB ports can connect external storage and JBOD expansion units. QNAP also supports Docker-based applications through Container Station, adding lightweight container workloads alongside file sharing, synchronization, backup and multi-user access.
QNAP lists the TS-432XeU-4G at €819.91 in its European store and specifies a three-year standard warranty. Pricing and availability in other regions have not been confirmed in the supplied materials.
