We’re as close as we’ll ever be to the launch moment of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, the very first Android 4.0 phone that we’ve been expecting for weeks. Rumored to be delayed till December, this device was supposed to come to Verizon on the 21st of this month, in time to catch the Black Friday shopping spree.

I can’t guarantee the launch will take place on that date, but things are moving in the right direction, as proved by the cases for the device, that started arriving at Verizon stores. Europe is most likely getting its share of the first Android Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone a week from now, on the 17th, according to a bunch of recent rumors.

In the meantime, the Motorola Droid RAZR will have an advantage , as it starts selling this week, so it will get some units under its belt before the Android 4.0 rival arrives. It will actually be hard to make a decision what to buy from Verizon in the following months, considering they’ll offer the Droid RAZR, HTC Rezound and Galaxy Nexus…
