Good news if you’re the owner of a Samsung device from 2012: turns out you may get the KitKat update of your handset in the end. Although the Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4 are still waiting for this release in some parts of the world, there’s hope for older devices.

Apparently, Samsung intends to upgrade the Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II to the latest Android, if everything works out fine. Aside from them, the list also includes the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0, Galaxy S4 Active, Galaxy Mega devices, Galaxy S4 Zoom, Galaxy Note 8.0 and Galaxy S3 Mini. Both global and US carrier versions will be covered by upgrades.

The question is WHEN? I’m also pretty suspicious regarding these updates, since Sammy is the kind of company that prefers to launch a Galaxy Note 3 Neo, rather than update the Galaxy Note 2. The two are pretty similar in features at the end of the day, but only one has KitKat…
