Wondering what the whole NFC (Near Field Communication) deal is on the new Google Nexus S? Luckily, there’s a short video below explaining the concept, that you’ll grasp pretty quickly. This type of close range wireless connectivity allows one to read smart tags, as shown in the video.

NFC was already tested in a number of countries and is a popular technology in Japan. The Google Nexus S is able to recognize movie posters, T-shirts and objects carrying an NFC Chip. The info on these is instantly recognized and price, data or contacts are shown on the handset’s screen. In just seconds, the phone will figure out what the available information is and then you’ll store it on the Nexus S or add the tags to your Favorites.

NFC only works on small distances and the Nexus S is the only Android handset capable of this feature right now…
