A short video shared by X user @XXiao2204 appears to show iOS 6 running on the original Google Nexus 7 tablet. The footage shows the vintage Apple Settings interface, while gesture controls also appear to work despite the Android tablet lacking a physical Home button.

The clip is evidence of the interface loading, but it does not establish how complete the reported port is. There are no technical details yet on the adaptation for NVIDIA hardware or on the software’s broader functionality.

  • Wi-Fi support has not been confirmed.
  • Audio functionality has not been confirmed.
  • Graphics acceleration has not been confirmed.

Google and ASUS introduced the first Nexus 7 in 2012 with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Its original hardware included a 7-inch display, an NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor and 1GB of RAM. Apple released iOS 6 in the same year, before the major visual redesign that arrived with iOS 7.

The person behind the demonstration says the project will be published on GitHub soon. Until code or further testing emerges, the scope and reproducibility of the Nexus 7 iOS 6 experiment remain unverified.
