Through a report revealed today, we get to know that Lava, the India’s fourth-biggest smartphone maker has in plan to move its production from China to India. In this way, all the smartphones developed will come with a special feature, the inscription “Made in India”, a thing that could increase sales as the customers are more likely to buy a local product.
Is expected that Lava to spend over $8.1 million in the next three years and after it will shift all of its production from China to India. Once with this announcement it was also revealed that starting April 2015, Lava will assemble devices at its Noida plant and out of the gates of this unit will get out almost 200.000 smartphone each month.
Hari Om Rai, Chairman and Managing Director of Lava International said: “We are just about to finalize six places in three states” to accommodate the entire ecosystem around handset manufacturing, one of which will house the company’s plant as well. The central government is giving 25% subsidy and various state governments are offering VAT-free operations, among others.”
