Japan Communications has revealed that it will announce a VAIO brand smartphone on March 12th, although we may get a glimpse of the product at MWC 2015. The devices under the VAIO brand have been expected for a while now, but we didn’t get too many details till today.

The VAIO phones have appeared in benchmarks and this newcomer highlighted for launch is known under the model number JCI VA-10J. It’s an Android 5.0 Lollipop phone, with a 64 bit Snapdragon 410 processor on board, a quad core clocked at 1.2 GHz. It packs a 5 inch 720p display, a 13 MP back camera and a front 5 MP shooter.

These specs actually remind me of the Samsung Galaxy A5 and if they slap a metal design onto it, it’s a total rival for that model. This is a single SIM phone, with WiFi and Bluetooth on board, 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage. Quanta Computer is responsible with manufacturing the product, it seems.
