Xiaomi has officially revealed the design of the Xiaomi 18 Fold and confirmed that the wide-format foldable will launch in China on September 7. The company’s first images show the handset in Nishino Red, with a horizontal rear camera island housing three cameras and an LED flash.
The 18 Fold uses a noticeably broader book-style layout than many conventional inward-folding phones. Its outer display measures 5.38 inches, while the internal folding screen reaches 7.58 inches. Xiaomi’s promotional material also shows heavily rounded corners and slim-looking display borders.
Xiaomi has previewed the device’s internal construction and hinge mechanism, but has not yet detailed the individual camera sensors. The pill-shaped camera module is confirmed to carry a triple-camera setup, while the full imaging configuration remains for the launch event.

The foldable will be powered by Xiaomi’s in-house Xring O3 chipset, a flagship-class processor built on a 3 nm process and supporting LPDDR6 memory. A recent Geekbench listing associated with the Xiaomi 18 Fold points to up to 16GB of RAM and Android 17, although Xiaomi has not officially confirmed those specifications.
Xiaomi has only announced the September 7 event for China, with no international release plans, pricing or full configuration list disclosed so far. Those details will determine how the 18 Fold enters an increasingly competitive wide-foldable segment.
