According to info coming from German Android site SmartDroid.de, Samsung Galaxy S owners will be happy to know that the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update will be available for them in March. Such an update is at least scheduled for Germany, but it might hit the U.S. in the same time frame.

It’s been a long wait for this update, not to mention the huge time it took for Froyo to reach Samsung Galaxy S models. Right now the Galaxy S II is more tempting, but those of you who bought the predecessor will receive Gingerbread as a consolation prize.
