Apple’s 2026 Mac Studio has appeared in Romanian retail listings with pre-orders open and deliveries scheduled to begin on September 22. The desktop is listed in M5 Max and M5 Ultra configurations, although wider international availability and Apple’s official market-by-market launch details are not specified in the listings.
The M5 Ultra is described as Apple’s first quad-die processor, formed by combining two dual-die M5 Max chips. Its highest stated specification includes a 36-core CPU, with 12 efficiency cores and 24 performance cores, plus an 80-core GPU with dedicated neural accelerators. Apple claims up to 4.5 times the AI performance of the M3 Ultra for this version.
The listed M5 Ultra Mac Studio configuration has a 30-core CPU, 64-core GPU, 96GB of unified memory and a 1TB SSD. The M5 Max model is listed with an 18-core CPU, 32-core GPU, 36GB of unified memory and 512GB of storage; SSD capacity can be configured up to 8TB.
At the top end, the system supports up to 512GB of unified memory and memory bandwidth of up to 1.2TB/s, a combination positioned for running large language models locally. Connectivity is said to include Thunderbolt 5, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.
