Mobile Review has a scoop on BlackBerry Tour 2, that supposedly popped up on Verizon Wireless’ database, as pictured below. The 9650 model is also known as BlackBerry Essex or Tour 2 and it should be a successor to the very popular BB Tour, with the primary extra feature being WiFi connectivity.
Turns out that the new BlackBerry is a dual mode smartphone, with CDMA, GSM, EDGE and UMTS support, running BB OS 126.96.36.1995 and packing a 3.2 megapixel camera. Expect it to go on sale in early 2010 and rumour has it that it’ll also reach the US carrier Sprint.
