Motorola’s next clamshell Razr foldable may add Wi-Fi 7, Ultra Wideband (UWB) and a Qualcomm chipset, according to FCC documentation tied to several new model numbers. The filing’s references to “Flip Open” and “Flip Close” modes point to a foldable handset, widely expected to be the successor to the Razr (2026).
The certification identifies four variants of the device:
- T2761-1
- XT2761-2
- XT2761-3
- XT2761V
The documentation suggests several changes and retained features for the upcoming model:
- Wi-Fi 7 connectivity
- Ultra Wideband support, which can enable precise accessory tracking and digital-key functions for compatible vehicles
- A Qualcomm chipset, replacing MediaTek Dimensity silicon used in several recent base Razr generations
- NFC support
- Wireless charging
A switch to Qualcomm would be one of the more significant changes if confirmed, particularly for Motorola’s base Razr model. The FCC material does not identify the specific processor or provide details on display, cameras, battery capacity or other core hardware.
FCC certifications can surface one to three months before a product reaches stores, although there is no fixed timetable. That leaves open the possibility of an announcement before April 2027, but neither Motorola nor the filing has confirmed a launch date, final Razr branding or market availability.
