Hitachi just announced its latest innovation: a 3D 720p screen with a 4.5 inch diagonal, that might even tempt Apple in the future. This is a super bright display, that might make it to the specifications list of many future smartphones.

Right now qHD screens are trendy, but they have their limitations. However, with Hitachi’s evolved technology, you get a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution and 77% more pixels than on a qHD screen. That’s very impressive, especially if you also add that no-glasses 3D viewing. This tech is based on in plane switching and offers bright colors and great viewing angles.

The screen uses a micro-array of individual lenses, that direct the light from some of the pixels to the user’s eyes. The result is a brighter picture than on the HTC EVO 3D or LG Optimus 3D, for example and with that big 4.5 inch diagonal, we’re waiting for a great experience.
