HONOR has added Tuning Master to MagicOS 11, giving supported phones a built-in 10-band equalizer and customizable audio profiles. The feature, introduced with MagicOS 11 on September 15, is designed to provide more direct control over sound for music, movies and audiobooks.
Users can adjust individual frequency bands manually or use quick controls intended to boost bass or bring voices forward. Tuning Master also includes five preset sound profiles: strong bass, clear vocals, enhanced treble, energetic background music and a more relaxed audiobook mode.
Custom settings can be saved for different content types, including music and films, as well as for particular headphone pairs, allowing users to switch between profiles without rebuilding their equalizer settings. While 10-band equalizers are not new to smartphones, this is HONOR’s first integration of that level of adjustment directly into its software interface.
Tuning Master is currently available on the following devices:
- HONOR Magic8 RSR Porsche Design
- HONOR Magic8 Pro
- HONOR Magic8
- HONOR Magic7 RSR Porsche Design
- HONOR Magic7 Pro
- HONOR Magic7
- HONOR GT Pro
HONOR says it is working to expand compatibility, but it has not identified the next supported models or provided a timetable for bringing Tuning Master to more affordable devices.
