HONORās standard Magic 9 may arrive with hardware normally associated with substantially larger flagship phones. A leak from Digital Chat Station claims the handset will feature an 8,000mAh battery and two 200MP rear cameras in a body built around a 6.37-inch display. None of the specifications has been confirmed by HONOR.
- Display: a flat 6.37-inch OLED panel with 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate and Oasis Eye eye-comfort technology.
- Battery and charging: an 8,000mAh battery. A previously spotted certification reportedly indicates 100W charging for two of the three Magic 9-series models, although it remains unclear whether the standard Magic 9 is included.
- Main camera: a 200MP sensor in a 1/1.4-inch format.
- Ultra-wide camera: a 50MP sensor.
- Telephoto camera: a 200MP periscope unit using a 1/1.56-inch sensor. The leak does not specify its optical zoom range.
- Security: a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint reader integrated into the display.
The claimed camera setup would give the base model both a high-resolution primary sensor and a high-resolution periscope telephoto, but its position relative to higher-end Magic 9 variants cannot yet be determined without zoom and imaging details.
Digital Chat Station has also separately mentioned a possible Magic 9 āSuper Editionā with a redesigned chassis, an integrated fan, a large battery and a smaller telephoto module. Those claims concern a different, unconfirmed model and should not be treated as Magic 9 specifications.
The Magic 9 family is expected to be unveiled on September 28, though HONOR has yet to confirm the complete model roster or the names of every version expected at the event.
