HONOR’s Magic9 Pro Max has surfaced in a leaked unboxing video ahead of the Magic9 series launch scheduled for September 28. Although the video was quickly removed, screenshots show what appears to be the new top-tier model in a Moss Green finish, along with its unusually large circular rear camera module.

The handset has a matte metallic-looking rear panel and a prominent camera island positioned toward the left side. ARRI branding is visible on the module, suggesting that HONOR may bring cinematic imaging features associated with its Robot Phone concept to the conventional flagship lineup. The leak also points to a sizeable periscope camera, while a dedicated side button could be assigned to the camera or AI features.

Separate leaks have claimed the Magic9 Pro Max will carry an 8,800mAh battery and run MagicOS 11, which is expected to introduce an updated Liquid Design interface. The device has also reportedly been spotted at the Venice Film Festival, continuing HONOR’s recent use of film-focused events to showcase its imaging technology.

Reported hardware includes a 200-megapixel main camera using a 1/1.28-inch sensor, a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera and a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto unit. The latter is rumored to offer more than 3x optical zoom, potentially reaching 5x. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro is also expected, though HONOR has yet to confirm the specifications, regional availability or pricing.
