HUAWEI’s next tri-fold handset, the Mate XT 2, is scheduled to launch on September 7 and has entered the preorder stage in China. Newly released renders show the device in three finishes: Jin Purple, Dark Black and Pure White.

Jin Purple combines a purple rear panel with metallic-looking details around the frame and camera module. Dark Black pairs its black finish with silver-colored accents, while Pure White uses gold-colored trim. The renders also offer views of the phone folded and fully opened, highlighting its large rear camera assembly.

The Mate XT 2 is listed with 16GB of RAM and either 512GB or 1TB of storage. A Privacy Matte Display option is said to be exclusive to the highest-end configuration, while a 2TB version is expected to include a stylus.

Reported specifications also include a 6,000mAh battery and an inward-folding design. That would mark a change from the outward-folding approach used by the earlier Mate XT and Mate XTs models. Full specifications, pricing and plans outside China remain to be confirmed at the September 7 launch.
