A couple of days ago, Chinese outfit LeTV unveiled its first VR headset and started offering preorders for it. The product goes on sale today and it’s dubbed LeVR Cool 1.

It’s only available in China for now and 20.000 units were made available for the initial sale. We may see this device demoed at CES 2016, where LeTV will be present to debut new handsets and its current models on the US market. The new headset costs a mere $23 and offers a very immersive experience. LeVR Cool 1 is made to work with the Le 1 and Le 1 Pro handsets and it adopts a PMMA-based aspherical lens, plus imported optical coating.

It also supports “interpupillary distance” and has adjustable diopter mechanisms. LeTV implemented here an Ecosystem User Interface (EUI), optimized for VR applications. A special “spline interpolating algorithm” is relied upon in order to expand the user multi sensory experience, meaning that immersion is great here.
