MediaTek will unveil the Dimensity 9600 Pro on September 15, 2026, positioning its next flagship smartphone chipset around gaming, AI processing, power efficiency and advanced camera capabilities. The company has confirmed that the platform will support 4K video recording at 240fps, enabling high-resolution slow-motion capture on compatible phones.

The launch event is scheduled for 14:30 in China. MediaTek has also teased “Pro Imaging,” pointing to updates to the chipset’s image signal processor and camera processing pipeline, although it has not yet disclosed the full imaging specifications.

Gaming is another central part of the Dimensity 9600 Pro pitch. MediaTek is promising AI-assisted graphics improvements, an updated HyperEngine suite and stronger ray-tracing performance. CPU and GPU configurations, manufacturing process details, and the capabilities of the new neural processing unit have not been announced.

Only the Dimensity 9600 Pro has been confirmed so far. Reports of a standard Dimensity 9600 and a higher-end Dimensity 9600 Pro Max remain unverified. The Vivo X500 series is among the first smartphone families said to be lined up for the platform, with MediaTek expected to provide the remaining architecture, performance and efficiency details at its September event.
