Good news for Symbian haters: it appears that Nokia N8 will be the last Nseries device running the OS, that will be replaced with MeeGo afterwards. We remind you that the MeeGo platform was developed by Nokia in cooperation with Intel, blending the Maemo and Moblin operating systems into a single solution.

This info comes straight from Nokia Australia, via CNet Australia and we learn that  Symbian^3 and  Symbian^4 will be used specifically on the XSeries and ESeries devices. The CSeries will still be on the budget side of the affair and will keep using Series 40.

Nokia N9 is considered to be the very first MeeGo handset, although we have no info on it, aside from rumours and concepts. Expect a version of the N9 with a sliding hardware QWERTY keyboard…
