OnePlus has opened a voluntary ColorOS 17 Open Beta program for the OnePlus 15 in India, giving users an early route to the Android 17-based interface. The key caveat is the exit path: installing the beta should not erase data, but rolling back to OxygenOS requires a local package and a full data wipe.
According to the official OnePlus Community announcement, registrations run from October 9 through October 12. The program is limited to Indian OnePlus 15 units on CPH2745_16.0.10.500(EX01) or CPH2745_16.0.10.601(EX01). Eligible users can apply through Settings > About device > Beta program; accepted applicants will receive the ColorOS 17 build as an OTA update.
OnePlus recommends backing up data before upgrading. As with any beta release, the company also warns of possible bugs, temporary heating, increased battery consumption, and compatibility issues with some apps.
The OnePlus 15 is not the only handset included in the ColorOS 17 testing push. OnePlus has also opened ColorOS 17 programs for the following models:
- OnePlus 13
- OnePlus 13R
- OnePlus 13s
- OnePlus 15R
For now, the OnePlus 15 Open Beta is limited to India, and OnePlus has not confirmed a wider regional rollout. OPPO is scheduled to present the international version of ColorOS 17 on October 13, when further details on regional timing may emerge.
