Nothing has begun rolling out the Nothing OS 5.0 Open Beta for the Phone (4a) Pro, extending the Android 17-based release beyond the Phone (3). The download is approximately 2.73GB and brings a redesigned Control Center, Lucent themes, expanded lock-screen customization and additional AI-driven tools.

The visual overhaul also updates Quick Settings, notification separation, icons and animations. New lock-screen effects and widgets are included, alongside Glyph Timer and adaptive colors for icons and other interface elements.

Nothing is also expanding its Essential and Glyph software features in the beta:

Other additions include an expanded Dark Mode, a floating recorder and separate audio controls. Nothing previously listed the Phone (4a) Pro for an early-September Nothing OS 5.0 rollout, though the Open Beta has arrived later than that timetable indicated.

Two previously announced elements are not part of this build: the new homescreen and the Micrographics watch face. Nothing says both are still in development and are expected with the stable release; as an Open Beta, the current software may also contain bugs that affect daily use.
