Samsung has confirmed a One UI 9 bug affecting status bar customization on Galaxy phones. The issue involves QuickStar, the Good Lock module used to manage which indicators appear at the top of the screen, and Samsung has not provided a release date for a fix.
Reports indicate that some QuickStar controls are mapped incorrectly. Enabling Do Not Disturb, for example, can make the Wi-Fi icon reappear, while turning off the network indicator can cause the Wi-Fi symbol to disappear instead. The behavior was demonstrated in a video shared on the Samsung Community forum.
The Good Lock support team said it is aware of the problem and is preparing changes, but the repair requires platform-level work rather than a standard QuickStar module update. Additional testing is also required, leaving the timing of a software fix unconfirmed.
Samsung has also addressed a separate One UI 9 status bar complaint in which Wi-Fi, alarm, or other icons appear to be missing. In that case, a long date format can consume too much of the available status bar space, preventing all indicators from being shown.
Switching to a shorter date format should restore icons hidden by the space constraint. Users seeing incorrect icon behavior in QuickStar, however, will need to wait for Samsung’s platform-level update.
