Samsung Omnia was announced a few days ago in its CDMA version and it hit the stores yesterday, but there’s another thing you should know about it. This is the first DivX certified mobile phone released in the US. What does this mean?

It’ll play high quality DivX videos seamlessly, taking advantage of the DivX technology (minimal storage, highest quality).

It would be a pity to have such good video support without a decent screen, but don’t worry, Omnia has it all, a 3.2 inch touchscreen, 8GB internal memory to store your favorite videos plus a microSD slot.

In case you’re interested in something else than watching videos on the phone, there’s a 5 megapixel camera on board, Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and Samsung’s TouchWiz interface.
