Samsung just announced a new member of the Bada OS-based Wave family, the Wave 578 model aka Samsung GT-S5780. The phone is a mid-range unit, that uses a Near Field Communication chip. This can be used to wireless payments and it’s feature that’s also been activated in the latest Android for handsets.

Back to the Samsung Wave 578, this phone runs Bada OS 2.0, although sources say it’ll only go with version 1.2. As far as specs are concerned, you get a 3.2 inch WQVGA display, a Social Hub, 3.2MP camera, WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0 and video calling.

The phone will be showcased at MWC on February 15th.
