As you might already know, the native Skype client for iPhone was just released and it’s available for free via the iTunes App Store. The first drawback we’ll mention is the fact that you can’t use your data plan with the software, so you’ll rely on Wi-Fi. Here’s a quick look at Skype for iPhone:

The software even turns the iPod Touch into a “phone”, because the VoIP app allows unlimited calling for a mere $3 a month. The landlines call fees are very low and we’re looking forward to a more evolved version of this client, perhaps with SMS support and the ability of initiating a conference call.

Still, you can join a conference and even use a picture you just took with the phone’s camera as your avatar.
