Digitimes is reporting that Sony Ericsson might finally join the gang of Windows Phone 7 device makers, maybe sooner than we think. MWC 2011 would be the perfect opportunity, although usually that’s Nokia’s turf for announcements.

It’s bizarre that such a great brand like SE wasn’t part of the initial avalanche of WP7 smartphones in October, but their commitment to Android had to be strengthened somehow, right? Also, Sony Ericsson had to focus on the PSP Phone, some new XPERIA devices and their bad image of the current XPERIA products, failing to get Android updates in time.

Back to the new WP7 devices, Sony Ericsson is supposed to use the experience of Sony, also including PSP and Bravia TV technology on the future handsets. We don’t yet know how PSP and Xbox will be handled on the same device, but we’ll have to wait and see…
