After a bunch of leaks concerning future flagships like Huawei P11 and Galaxy S9, today we come across some info about the Xiaomi Mi 7. The device just got priced and specced and it’s going to cost $407, it seems. Some of its hardware specs we already knew, while others sound totally new to us.

Finally we have a diagonal, which is 6.01 inches and that’s quite the jump from the Mi 6’s 5.15 inches. Samsung will be supplying OLED panels for this device and industry sources claim that we’ll get a Snapdragon 845 CPU inside, which we were expecting to be frank. The previously mentioned screen will have an 18:9 aspect and narrow bezels, perhaps taking a page from the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 book.

We should also get at least 6 GB of RAM inside, if not 8 GB and while Xiaomi wanted to include 3D face recognition here, the system isn’t ready for prime time just yet. They need to work with Qualcomm for optimization and debugging, so maybe we’ll see it on the Mi Mix 3. The fingerprint scanner could be moved at the back, to make more room for the screen and we should also get a dual 16 MP back camera, with F/1.7 aperture.

The source also mentions fast charge and wireless charging, plus the “glass sandwich” design, with a metal frame inbetween. The starting price of $407 doesn’t sound half bad and I sure hope for a real camera upgrade this time.
