Xiaomi has introduced the Smart Camera 5 Pro Full-Color Night Vision in China, pairing 4K surveillance video with color night recording and locally processed AI alerts. The indoor smart-home camera is available through crowdfunding at CNY 429, with a recommended price of CNY 599 planned afterward.
The camera combines 8-megapixel and 4-megapixel sensors for its 4K capture. Xiaomi says the setup uses higher light sensitivity, supplemental illumination and software processing to retain color in dim scenes rather than immediately switching to black-and-white footage.

- Night modes are designed for scenarios including person detection, event-triggered recording and monitoring without visible red illumination.
- A 1.5-TOPS AI platform runs locally to recognize people and pets and identify sounds such as a baby crying.
- The motorized assembly offers 360-degree horizontal rotation and 174 degrees of vertical coverage.
- The camera supports dual-band Wi-Fi 6, two-way voice calls and integration with Xiaomi’s Mijia ecosystem.
- microSD cards can be used for local storage.
- Cloud services are supported for storage.
- NAS storage is also supported.
Xiaomi also lists an AOR mode intended to enable longer-duration recording with lower power consumption. Privacy-related features include a physical lens-masking option, local processing and access controls, addressing some of the data concerns associated with connected indoor cameras.

The Smart Camera 5 Pro is currently limited to crowdfunding in China. Xiaomi has brought other smart cameras to international markets, but availability and pricing for the new model elsewhere have not been announced.
