He said that even if the difference between a standard Full HD panel and a Quad HD one is only $2, such panels with higher resolution influence in a negative manner the battery lifetime, and also on the overall performance of the smartphone.

Taking in consideration this reason, Huawei seems to be willing that for the moment to stay close to Full HD screens, thing that gives us to understand that both the Ascend P8 and Mate 8 will arrive in the package with such a 1920 x 1080 panel. Also, Yu Chengdong said that for a better implementation of such a QHD panel is needed a powerful chip solution too, thing that will be tested later when flagship CPUs will be available on the market.
