There’s a bit of a lack of transparency regarding what’s happening with Huawei’s IFA 2015 plans. First, we heard they were bringing the Huawei Mate 8 to Berlin, then it morphed to the Mate 7S/7 Plus and then it was called Huawei Mate S. Now a so called Huawei Mate 8 leaks again and its specs are a bit changed from what we knew.

The device was previously spotted here, with a fingerprint scanner at the back, integrated within an elongated mechanism along with the main camera. Today we also get to see its front, complete with narrow bezels and an UI that looks old. Just look at those dock icons, that feel very much like KitKat… The phablet was teased for a September 2nd announcement at IFA 2015, unless it’s a totally different model than the Mate S and Huawei is bringing two phablets to Berlin.

Previous leaks mentioned a Quad HD 6 inch screen in the mix, as well as 3 or 4 GB of RAM and 32 or 64 GB of storage. A 20.7 megapixel camera was also mentioned for the back, plus an 8 megapixel front shooter and a 4500 mAh battery. Other rumors talk about a 13 MP Sony camera, a Full HD 5.7 inch screen and a choice between an Exynos 7420 CPU, Kirin 950 or Kirin 935.
