Huawei has unveiled the FreeBuds Neo wireless earbuds at its Munich event, equipping them with adaptive active noise cancellation, spatial audio and support for Android, iOS and Windows devices. UK sales are due to begin on September 23 at £119.99.
The earbuds can remain paired with two devices simultaneously, rather than being limited to Huawei’s own ecosystem. Their dual-channel ANC system is rated to reduce surrounding noise by up to 30 dB, while adaptive algorithms can alter the level of filtering according to the environment within milliseconds.
Huawei says the FreeBuds Neo use its third-generation audio chip, supporting lossless transmission at up to 2.3 Mbps and a maximum bitrate of 990 kbps. High-resolution transmission availability will depend on the connected device, as it does with the company’s FreeBuds 6.
The FreeBuds Neo will be offered in white, black, silver and pink. Huawei has also announced a UK launch promotion that lowers the price to £99, but availability and pricing for other markets have not yet been detailed.
