Amazfit may be preparing a T-Rex smartwatch with solar charging surfaces on both the display side and the rear of its case. References found in the Amazfit app point to a device called the T-Rex Dual Solar, while the watch has also surfaced in certification listings.
The reported design would use a front solar panel to gather light while the watch is being worn. A larger panel on the back could be exposed when the watch is taken off and placed in direct sunlight, potentially giving Amazfit a different approach to the solar-assisted designs used by Garmin’s Fenix Solar watches, which rely on a front-facing solar surface.
APK analysis reportedly reveals separate light-intensity tracking for the two panels in the companion app. That could let users see how much light is reaching each surface and position the watch to favor the larger rear panel when it is off the wrist.
A dual-panel system would fit the T-Rex family’s emphasis on long battery life and extended outdoor use. However, the available details come from software references and certifications rather than an official Zepp Health announcement, so charging performance, full specifications, pricing and release timing remain unknown.
