A custom Kubb Fanless mini PC with a solid 24K gold enclosure has reportedly been commissioned at a price of roughly $1.7 million. The 120 mm cube weighs 13 kg—far above the approximately 2.1 kg of the standard model—making the precious-metal chassis the defining feature rather than the undisclosed hardware inside.
The machine is not simply gold-plated. Its case is said to be made from solid 24K gold, while retaining the Kubb Fanless line’s 120 × 120 × 120 mm dimensions and fan-free design. That enclosure is functional as well as extravagant: it is part of the system’s passive heat-dissipation setup.
Gold has thermal conductivity of about 317 W/m·K at room temperature, higher than aluminum at roughly 237 W/m·K. It is not the most effective practical choice for this role, however; copper is around 401 W/m·K and would transfer heat more effectively at a vastly lower material cost.
Hardware remains unspecified
The customer’s exact processor, memory and storage configuration has not been revealed. The current Kubb Fanless range is offered with Intel Core Ultra and AMD Ryzen AI processors, and its available platform specifications include the following.

- AMD Ryzen AI 5 340 processor option
- Up to 128 GB of DDR5 memory
- 1 TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD option, plus a second M.2 slot

The reported price broadly tracks the amount of gold involved. At a cited 24K gold price of about $137,800 per kilogram on September 27, 2026, 12 kg of gold alone would be worth more than $1.65 million. The computer’s 13 kg total weight cannot be treated as an exact gold content figure because it also includes its motherboard, storage, memory and other components.
As a result, the custom Kubb’s long-term value may rest much more on its enclosure than its silicon. The processor and SSD will eventually age like those in any other mini PC, while the solid-gold chassis remains the component most likely to determine its value.
