Dreame has used IFA 2026 to showcase four motorized gimbal camera concepts, led by a compact design that combines a deployable, mechanically stabilized camera module with ambitious imaging targets: a 100MP Micro Four Thirds sensor, a variable-aperture zoom lens opening as wide as f/1.4, and 6K HDR recording at 60fps.
The compact concept resembles a conventional camera until its camera module rises from the body on a motorized gimbal. The unit can rotate toward the user for self-recording, while a large touchscreen, joystick and two dedicated control dials handle operation.
Its headline specifications remain aspirational. A 100MP Micro Four Thirds sensor is not currently available commercially, so Dreame's stated sensor, lens and video capabilities should be treated as development goals rather than final product specifications. The lens barrel also carries the Summilux name associated with Leica, although no partnership between Dreame and Leica has been confirmed.
Dreame also presented three versions of a device it calls the Gimbal Cinema Camera. The lineup includes single-camera and dual-camera concepts, the latter with a flip-out display, plus a more elaborate triple-camera model. That version is said to combine an ultrawide camera with a 200MP telephoto camera and cover a claimed 16mm to 800mm equivalent focal-length range.
All four devices are technology demonstrations rather than announced retail products. The key unanswered question is whether Dreame can turn its large-sensor gimbal ambitions into a commercial camera, particularly given that the 100MP Micro Four Thirds sensor central to its compact concept has yet to reach the market.
