HONOR’s upcoming Magic9 family could make unusually large batteries a flagship default. Specifications attributed to leaker Digital Chat Station outline an 8,000mAh Magic9, an 8,800mAh Magic9 Pro Max and an 11,000mAh Magic9 Super Edition ahead of the series’ scheduled September 28 launch in Beijing.
The Super Edition is the most striking entry in the reported lineup: it is said to pair an 11,000mAh battery with active fan cooling in an 8.1mm, 227g body. That would make it both thinner and lighter than the rumored 8.59mm, 233g Magic9 Pro Max despite carrying 2,200mAh more battery capacity. The trade-off appears to be a less ambitious camera system and simpler optical in-display fingerprint authentication.

HONOR has already announced the September 28 event and listed the standard Magic9 with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage at CNY 5,999. The company has also confirmed an ARRI collaboration for the Pro Max, a dual-200MP camera system and 200mm and 500mm telephoto accessories. Full international pricing and availability have not been confirmed.

- HONOR Magic9: The 209g handset is reportedly 8.49mm thick and has a 6.37-inch display, a 55MP square-format selfie camera, 80W wired and 50W wireless charging, a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint reader, AI and camera buttons, and IP68, IP69 and IP69K protection. Its 200MP main camera is said to use a 1/1.4-inch sensor, while the 200MP 3.5x periscope uses a 1/1.56-inch sensor.
- HONOR Magic9 Pro Max: The leak lists a 55MP square-format front camera, a 200MP 1/1.28-inch main camera with OIS, 100W wired and 80W wireless charging, 3D face recognition and a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint reader. Other reported hardware includes dual 1216 speakers, an X-axis linear motor, AI and camera buttons, and IP68, IP69 and IP69K protection.
- HONOR Magic9 Super Edition: Alongside its fan, the reported specifications include a 50MP selfie camera, 80W wired and 50W wireless charging, and an optical in-display fingerprint sensor. It is listed without the Pro Max’s 3D biometric setup and with a 12MP ultrawide camera rather than a 50MP unit.
The Pro Max’s chipset name remains a point to watch. The leak calls it the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and describes it as Qualcomm’s new flagship platform, while the Magic9 and Super Edition are listed with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The Pro Max had previously appeared in Geekbench with 16GB of RAM, but HONOR’s launch event will determine which of the remaining specifications are final.
