HONOR’s MagicOS 11 beta introduces storage-management tools that the company says can reclaim up to 60GB of space on supported devices. The figure is a best-case claim rather than a guaranteed result: the amount recovered will depend on the data and unused content already stored on each phone or tablet.
The cleanup system combines lossless compression for certain data with automatic removal of redundant files and cleanup of rarely used apps. It is one of several practical changes in the new release, which is also adding multi-protocol fast-charging support for third-party adapters and cables, alongside wireless-charging optimizations.
MagicOS 11 also targets weak-signal scenarios, including elevators and other areas where a device can easily lose its network connection. Other additions include simultaneous connections to two pairs of Bluetooth headphones, the ability to capture Live Photos while recording 4K video, and revised animations between the system interface and third-party apps. HONOR claims the animation changes deliver more than a 20% improvement in smoothness.
The update’s most visible change is a new “Liquid Glass” interface treatment, with transparent, fluid-looking elements. Beta users can adjust the material and transparency level, choosing between the liquid-glass style and a more matte glass-like appearance. HONOR says a new graphics architecture underpins the effects.
MagicOS 11 testing is currently limited to China. The first beta wave covers 17 HONOR phones and tablets, including the Magic8 and Magic7 series, Magic V6 and V5, HONOR 600, WIN, GT Pro and MagicPad 3 Pro. A second wave planned for mid-September is set to add the Magic V3, Magic6 series, HONOR 500 and MagicPad 3.
HONOR has already brought MagicOS 10 to the Magic7 Pro globally, but it has not provided a comparable international timetable for MagicOS 11. The company has also not specified which third-party charging protocols or power levels will be available on individual devices, leaving both charging compatibility and a broader rollout as key details to be confirmed. HONOR is separately preparing YOYO Next, suggesting the current beta does not yet show the full scope of the next software generation.
