Turns out that future Nokia Windows Phone units won’t be all about the Qualcomm Snapdragon chips, as the Finns will choose to use a ST-Ericsson U8500 dual core CPU. The info comes from STMicroelectronics chief Carlo Bozotti and you have to know that this company stands for the ST in the ST-Ericsson name.

Forbes quotes Carlo Bozotti on this matter and we have previous references to such a choice, like the time when a mystery MeeGO device made by Nokia was leaked months ago and Engadget assumed that it had a ST-Ericsson chip inside. The thing is that Nokia might still go with Qualcomm solutions and maybe sometime in the next years it will rely on the ST-Ericsson system on chip solution.

Will a third player also appear in this equation?
