Apple may pay Samsung Display about $250 for every foldable display used in the rumored iPhone Duo, according to an unverified claim circulating in China. If accurate, the arrangement would make Samsung Display a key supplier for Apple’s first foldable phone, despite the two companies’ long-running rivalry in smartphones.
The report, attributed to tipster Momentary Digital, also claims Apple and Samsung Display have signed a three-year contract that could extend to future iPhone Duo generations. No supporting documentation or other evidence has been provided for either the reported per-panel price or the alleged agreement.
