There’s still hope for the clamshell segment, as Samsung prepares a new phone of this type, dubbed Samsung Galaxy Folder 2. Leaked earlier this summer, the device has been certified by TENAA recently and now it has also leaked in promo materials.

This means that the product is very close to its debut, so let’s dissect the promos for now. We seem to be getting an ultraslim phone, with lower midrange specs, that include 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage and a microSD card slot. The device comes in gray, gold or rose gold and relies on a quad core Snapdragon 425 CPU, clocked at 1.4 GHz.

It also has LTE Category 4 support, Android 6.0 Marshmallow as the OS and a 1950 mAh battery. On the connectivity front there’s WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi Direct and microUSB. The screen shown here is a 3.8 incher with a 480 x 800 pixel resolution and we also get an 8 megapixel main camera, plus a front 5 MP shooter. Codenamed SM-G1600, this model is most likely a dual SIM affair.
