Samsung Mobile Display just showcased the next-gen LCD-TFT Display for smartphones and other mobile devices. The main appeal of the technology is that it surpasses the quality of the IPS technology and it improves viewing angle with 100%.

Also, the new screens should be 10% brighter. The Super PLS (Plan to Line Switching) Display supports a resolution up to WXGA and Samsung claims that the pricing is also an advantage since the new technology involves a cost that’s 15% lower. Right now, Samsung Mobile Display has 30 key patents for the new technology and they intend to start the mass production from Q1 2011.

Tablets and smartphones will be preferred for these screens.
