TechCrunch shows us a very cool video comparison between typing on the iPhone’s virtual keyboard and a new typing system called Swype. The latter included a predictive system made by the creator of T9. Here are the two methods in action:

Swype allows users to type by simply dragging their finger from one key to another on the touchscreen device of their choice. Accuracy is enhanced thanks to the above mentioned predictive system. As you can see in the video, the first handset to use this technology is Samsung Omnia II, on the Verizon network.

To be honest, typing with Swype seems faster, but it’s a different than typing on the iPhone, so it’s not quite fair to compare them.
