vivo has introduced OriginOS 7, its new Android 17-based software interface, led by deeper interoperability with Apple hardware and claimed improvements to app performance, memory management and rendering. The public Preview Program is scheduled to begin on September 22 for the vivo X300 Pro and select iQOO models in India, Thailand and Malaysia.
The update adds Apple Watch connectivity for notifications and essential fitness-data synchronization through Origin Health. It can also show AirPods battery status in Origin Island and supports Spatial Audio. Through vivo Office Kit, OriginOS phones can work with iPad, macOS and Windows devices, while iCloud files are accessible from vivo’s file manager.
Jovi is integrated into both the operating system and Office Kit, where it can coordinate tasks between a phone and computer or run scheduled actions. vivo says autonomous actions are logged transparently and that important steps require user authorization.
At the core of the release is the Origin Smooth Engine, which changes graphics processing, memory handling and system-task allocation. Its Ultra-Core Computing technology dynamically directs resources to maintain responsiveness under heavier workloads.

- Memory Fusion is claimed to improve memory recovery by 60% and can free up to 25GB on a device with 256GB of storage.

OriginOS 7 also introduces Fluid Motion animations, with interface elements designed to stretch, bounce and merge in response to gestures. New personalization features include Wiggle Theme, which turns photos into touch-reactive surfaces; Glint Theme, which adjusts wallpaper lighting and shadows using the gyroscope; StickIt, for dynamic lock-screen, home-screen and always-on-display collages; and Pet Pals, animated virtual pets that react to movement, charging, music and the time of day.
vivo has not yet detailed whether the Preview Program will expand beyond its initial markets, nor has it announced a wider rollout timetable for OriginOS 7.
