Xiaomi has disclosed the camera setup for the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max ahead of the series’ scheduled September 23 launch. Both models are set to pair a 200MP Leica-branded main camera with a 1/1.28-inch sensor and a second 200MP periscope telephoto camera.
The periscope module uses a 1/1.59-inch sensor, an f/2.4 aperture and a 75mm-equivalent focal length. Xiaomi lists 3.2x optical zoom and macro capture support for the camera. An ultra-wide camera is also part of the rear setup, although Xiaomi has not yet detailed its specifications.
Xiaomi claims the telephoto camera on the 18 Pro captures 280% more light than its predecessor, while the 18 Pro Max version is said to capture 83% more light than the model it replaces. The company has also released camera samples, but independent reviews will be needed to assess the imaging system beyond those promotional shots.
Beyond the cameras, the two phones are expected to use Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processors, add rear displays and a Privacy Display feature, and carry larger batteries. International availability has not been confirmed, with a possible wider release in December still uncertain.
