Huawei has launched the Mate XT2 in China, but an official rollout to other markets appears unlikely for now. Early import offers have emerged in Hong Kong, the United Arab Emirates and the UK, where higher-capacity versions of the tri-fold can cost more than €5,000.
The Mate XT2 moves away from the Z-shaped folding arrangement used by earlier models. Its U- or G-style design folds both sections inward, leaving an external display of about 6.5 inches when closed and expanding to a 10.2-inch tablet-sized screen. The approach is similar to Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold.
- China pricing begins at CNY 19,999, or about €2,560, for the model with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
- The 1TB version with a Privacy Display is priced at roughly €3,200 in China.
- Higher-end configurations, including a 2TB model with a stylus, approach CNY 30,000.
- Import listings from Trinity Electronics and AverageDad put the 256GB model at about €3,626 to €3,685.
- Imported 512GB models are listed at close to €3,865, while 1TB versions, with or without the Privacy Display, range from around €4,065 to more than €5,000 depending on the retailer.
The handset is currently offered in black, white and purple. The 2TB configuration has not yet appeared in the available importer listings, leaving its international grey-market price unclear.
