ColorOS 17 is scheduled to reach its first accepted internal beta testers on September 17, with 12 OPPO, OnePlus and realme phones named for the opening wave. The Android 17-based interface is also due to be formally introduced that day.

The initial beta group is focused on recent high-end devices, including OPPO’s Find X9 family, the Find N6 foldable, OnePlus 15 models and realme’s GT8 Pro. The confirmed first-wave devices are:

  • OPPO Find N6
  • OPPO Find N6 Satellite Communication Edition
  • OPPO Find X9
  • OPPO Find X9 Pro
  • OPPO Find X9 Pro Satellite Communication Edition
  • OPPO Find X9 Ultra
  • OPPO Find X9 Ultra Satellite Communication Edition
  • OPPO Find X9s Pro
  • OnePlus 15
  • OnePlus 15T
  • realme GT8 Pro
  • realme GT8 Pro Aston Martin F1 Limited Edition

This first beta roster is not the complete ColorOS 17 compatibility list. ColorOS product management has indicated that the wider eligible-device list will be announced on September 17, according to IT Home.

The internal test program is expected to span 49 devices in three batches. Recruitment for the first batch began on September 11; while initial approved participants are expected to receive beta software on September 17, rollout to the rest of that group may continue through September 23. Recruitment for the second batch is scheduled for September 17, followed by a third batch on October 3.

Early information around ColorOS 17 has pointed to performance refinements, smoother animations and more efficient resource management. The September 17 eligibility announcement should clarify how far support extends beyond the first flagship-focused beta group.
