After seeing a lot of spy pics and information regarding HTC Touch Cruise 09 (Iolite), the device is finally official, courtesy of its maker. The smartphone also bears a new name, Touch Cruise and it’ll feature geo-tagging through a fresh new app, called Footprints. This piece of software is part of TouchFlo2D and can be accessed by pressing a button on the handset’s front side.

With HTC Footprints you can geo-tag your pictures with their location, the name of a point of interest close by and you can even add a written note on the back of the tagged picture or an audio clip. Touch Cruise bundles a car cradle and charger and uses a finger-friendly interface (NaviPanel).

Also, we learned that in France, the device will be bundled with CoPilot Live 7’s nav software. As far as availability goes, Touch Cruise will hit the market this Spring, packing a 3.2 megapixel camera, a 2.8 inch TFT LCD screen, 512 MB of internal memory, 256 MB RAM, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR and a microSD slot.
